Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about booking DJ Shark Attack for your wedding.

How far in advance should I book a wedding DJ?

We recommend booking your DJ as early as possible — ideally 9 to 12 months before your wedding date. Summer and fall weekends in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Columbia book up fast, and the best dates go quickly. That said, if your wedding is sooner, reach out anyway — we occasionally have availability for shorter timelines.

What areas do you serve?

DJ Shark Attack serves the entire state of Missouri and beyond. Our primary markets are St. Louis, Kansas City, and Columbia, but we regularly travel for weddings and are happy to discuss your location. We've DJ'd weddings wherever the couple needed us.

What's included in your DJ package?

Every package includes professional emceeing, custom playlist creation, deluxe sound and lighting equipment, and unlimited hours at one flat rate. No surprise fees, no overtime charges, no watching the clock. We're there from your first song to your last.

Do you take song requests?

Absolutely. We work with every couple before the wedding to build a custom playlist that reflects your taste and your crowd. You can give us must-plays, do-not-plays, and everything in between. On the night itself we read the room and keep the energy where it needs to be.

Will you be our actual DJ, or do you send someone else?

We have a team of experienced DJs and will match you with the right person for your event. You'll know exactly who your DJ is well in advance, and you'll have direct communication with them before your wedding day. No surprises.

Do you also DJ the ceremony?

Yes — we can handle ceremony sound and music in addition to your reception. Just let us know when you reach out and we'll include that in your quote.

How do you keep the dance floor packed all night?

Experience, mostly. After 500+ weddings we know how to read a crowd — when to build energy, when to slow it down, when to drop a song that gets everyone off their seats. We also do our homework before your wedding, learning your guests and your vision so nothing feels generic.

What happens if something goes wrong with the equipment?

We bring backup equipment to every single wedding. Sound and lighting failures are extremely rare, but we're always prepared. Your reception won't skip a beat.

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Missouri?

Wedding DJ pricing in Missouri varies depending on the length of the event, location, and what's included. We offer transparent, flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees. The best way to get an accurate number is to fill out our quick quote form — we'll get back to you fast.
